The Semi-rich Cinnamon Syrup Recipe
Often used in Tiki Drinks, its great having this on hand for the summer!
This is essentially a semi-rich syrup infused with cinnamon.
A semi-rich syrup means it is a 1.5:1 ratio.
Essential for many Tiki drinks.
Adds a nice twist to classic cocktails.
I suggest giving it at try in an old fashion, it goes great with whiskey.
Tips
Place a small sauce pan over low to medium heat.
Pour in 1.5 cups of white sugar.
Pour in 1 cup of hot water.
Stir continuously while the sugar dissolves & becomes clear.
Place in 4 cinnamon sticks and allow to simmer for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow the sticks to steep for 12 hours.
At the 12 hour mark remove the sticks and you have a nice cinnamon syrup!
