The Singapore Sling is a cocktail nobody can agree on. That's because there seem to be countless recipes for this drink. It would help if we knew for certain the original recipe created over 100 years ago - but we don't. What we do know is it's a gin-based cocktail that fits right into the world of Tiki, and you can spin the Singapore Sling any way you like.
How to Make The Singapore Sling 2.0
Herbal Components
Pepper from the Gin
Rich but is cut nicely by the Gin
Sips
This version of the Singapore Sling is an easy one to remember on the fly since its all equal parts of the four main ingredients.
For the Gin I suggest using a peppery Navy strength so it holds up and balances the cocktail well.
Tips
Begin with a shaking tin.
Pour in 1 oz. of Gin. (I’m using a peppery Navy strength so it holds up)
Then, 1 oz. of cherry liqueur.
Add 1 oz. of Bénédictine DOM
Pour in 1 oz. of fresh lime juice.
Lastly, 1 dash of Angostura Bitters.
Add Ice and Shake! (about 10 seconds)
In a Collins glass, add ice and a bit of soda water.
Pour in the cocktail and top off with more soda water.
Garnish however you’d like but I used a lime and a cherry.
Cheers!
