How to Make the Paper Plane Cocktail
This modern classic comes to us from Sam Ross, and is an example of a cocktail using the same balanced build of the Last Word - one base spirit, two liqueurs, and citrus.
Just the right amount of sweet, sour, and bitter.
A perfect taste arch: brightness from lemon, woodiness from bourbon and then fruitiness to round out the experience.
Sips
You can make substitutions but in my opinion this cocktail is perfect as is, no tweaks necessary.
You can garnish with a tiny paper plane if you want to bring a bit of fun to the occasion.
If possible, prepare some fresh lemon juice in advance.
0.75 (3/4) of an oz. is the magic number so you can easily remember how to make a Paper Plane in the future. Scale up or down depending upon the amount you would like to make but make sure it stays equal parts.
Chill that glass!
Tips
Begin with a shaking tin.
Add 0.75 oz. of Bourbon.
Next, add 0.75 oz. of Amaro Nonino.
Then, 0.75 oz. of Aperol.
Lastly, 0.75 oz. of fresh lemon juice.
Add ice and shake for 10 seconds.
Double strain into your glass.
Cheers!
