How to Make The Bobby Burns Cocktail

This is an easy scotch drink you can make at home with little effort. Along the lines of a manhattan or a rob roy, this is a cocktail for Burns Night, which is the celebration of the Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796). However, I would still highly recommend trying this one any time of the year!

  • Rich and warming.

  • Spirit forward.

  • Almost a chocolatey note from the sweet vermouth.

  • Great for winter months, the June gloom or really all year long.

Sips

  • Some say the Scotch in this drink needs to be highland or a 12-year but I like Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt in this drink.

  • Because this version is served up, it’s paramount that we have a chilled glass ahead of time. I prefer using a coupe for this drink.
