this is one of my all time favorite drinks! Essentially a riff on the whiskey sour, what makes this cocktail unique is an ingredient called groseille syrup - I'm better off writing groseille rather than attempting to say it (my pronunciation is brutal). It's a red currant syrup that isn't called for in many cocktails, so I'll show you how to make that here.

How to Make the Artist’s Special

  • Savory nuttiness from the sherry.

  • Just enough whiskey flavor comes through.

  • The Groseille (red currant) syrup shines bright.

Tips

  • Chill that glass!

  • Personally I like this one clean without a garnish but if you’d like to add a lemon twist, it will brighten up the drink even more.

  • Go for a drier sherry if possible.

  1. Start with a shaking tin.

  2. Pour in 1 oz. of bourbon.

  3. Next, add 1oz. of sherry.

  4. Then, 0.75 oz. of Groseille (red currant) syrup

  5. Lastly, 0.75 oz. of fresh lemon juice.

  6. Add ice and shake for approx. 10 seconds.

  7. Now double strain into the glass.

  8. Cheers!
