This one has become a modern classic, and as you can guess, it's a riff on the Negroni. I'm going to say it, this drink isn't white - it's yellow. That's due to the Suze liqueur (a French apéritif). It's an important component to this cocktail, and certainly makes this drink one to remember. If you're ready to expand your Negroni horizons, and interested in a solid variation, join me in having a White Negroni! Cheers!
How to Make A White Negroni
Big flavor that would be great right before a meal.
Grassy/earthiness from the Suze.
Bitterness that makes you salivate.
Sips
Traditionally this recipe is equal parts but I like to go heavier on the Gin because of the big flavors from the other two spirits.
Make sure you have ice ready, preferably a large cube.
If you haven’t tried Suze liqueur before, sip a bit separately to get the full experience.
Tips
Begin with a mixing glass.
Add 1.5 oz. of Gin.
Next, add 0.75 oz. of Suze.
Then, 0.75 oz. of Lillet Blanc.
Stir for 20 seconds.
Pour into your lowball glass w/ ice.
Express an grapefruit peel over the top and hit the rim of the glass.
You can discard the grapefruit peel or fold it on a cocktail skewer for a garnish.
