Easy Grenadine Syrup Recipe

Usually people will purchase grenadine but today we are going to make our own true grenadine that is a bit less sweet than the store-bought options. If you aren’t in the mood to make it yourself I did the work for you along with our partners at Portland Syrups. Learn more about it on this page.

  • We are adding pomegranate molasses to give it an extra punch but you can substitute with lemon juice if you’d like.

  • Pomegranate molasses can also make some tasty salad dressings if you need another reason to buy a bottle.

  • Remember when it comes to rose water, a little goes a long way so add slowly & don’t add more than a 1/2 tsp.

  • The finished product won’t look as bright red as you are used to seeing in the store but that’s a good thing since we are using real pomegranate juice.

Tips

  1. Place a small sauce pan over low to medium heat.

  2. Pour in 2 cups of 100% Pomegranate Juice.

  3. Add in 1 tbsp. of Pomegranate molasses.

  4. Add 3 cups of plain white sugar.

  5. Stir continuously while the sugar dissolves.

  6. Once dissolved remove from heat and let cool.

  7. Add in a little bit of rose water, 1/2 tsp. should do the trick then stir to combine.

  8. Enjoy in your upcoming cocktails!
